History of
Tequila
Distilled from
the heart of the blue-leaved Agave- a large
succulent plant that takes nearly a decade to mature in the heat
of Central Mexico- tequila is a true classic spirit and is as
integral to mexican culture as Whiskey is to Scottish traditions.
The Aztecs have thought to have produced alcoholic drinks
from Agave as early as the third century B.C. with distillation
dating from the 16th century while unaged tequila offers fresh,
earthy, herbaceous characteristics, barreled-aged varieties
have a complexity to rival a cognac or malt whiskey
"El Mante"
Tequila is harvested in our own plantations- which
is unique as there are only five companies that have this
distinction consequently, the quality and preparation put into
our tequila is consistent with traditional methods of tequila
distillations.
